Hi – I’m Jonathan.
I built this site is a space for sharing ideas, lessons, and reflections on what it takes to run and grow a business – particularly in the messy, in-between stages that don’t always make it into the case studies or leadership books.
The perspective here comes from years I’ve spent working with organisations of various shapes and sizes, often in moments of change: expanding into new markets, reshaping sales strategies, or trying to make sense of why performance wasn’t quite where it should be. Some of those situations went remarkably well. Others offered the sort of hard-won lessons you tend to remember.
My work has been is on helping organisations become more commercially effective – whether that means sharpening sales insight, reviewing gross margins, or exploring new routes to market. I’ve done this in interim roles, permanent roles, consultancy projects and in a volunteer capacity.
This site isn’t a pitch; it’s a resource – for me as much as any subscribers or other readers. It’s where I share stories, frameworks, and bits of practical thinking that might be useful to others wrestling with similar challenges. I’ve structured it through posts on specific stories, categorising them loosely. The site also has a good search function which I encourage you to use.
Names and locations are occasionally changed to protect client confidentiality, but the underlying business issues and experiences – and the thinking behind the solutions – are all real.
If you’re a business leader, commercial manager, or just someone trying to make your organisation work better, I hope you find something here that helps you think differently. Shout with any ideas or questions!
Thanks for reading!
