I recently took a trip down memory lane, reminiscing about how technology has transformed the world of presentations. 📽️
I remember a time when I gave a presentation to over 100 students armed with two large screens, an overhead projector, and a trusty Kodak 35mm slide projector – talk about multitasking! It was very much ‘lumière et lumière’.

Fast forward to today, and we find ourselves in an era where PowerPoint sometimes feels like yesterday’s news. 📦 New presentation tools are on the rise, offering exciting possibilities. And it’s always refreshing to see people giving presentations explore new tools.
However, let’s not forget that technology should enhance, not overshadow, the art of storytelling.
Our presentations are the narratives we craft, the experiences we create; technology serves as the enabler and should not become the story itself. I remember an early noughties presentation where a supplier added a slow-moving cartoon snail that leisurely crawled across the screen. High scoring in the novelty factor, but I can’t for the life of me remember what he was talking about.
